Philip Whiteley is an author and journalist, specialising in the working environment and business performance.
In his work he questions why management and organisational design are often not based on evidence,
and challenges the centrality of accountancy in business life.
He argues that management requires a conceptual shift,
recognising human activity and skills as the source of all assets, rather than just an item on the balance sheet.
He has published nine books and major reports,
ranging in subject matter from a summary of technical approaches to human capital analysis,
to a discussion of cultural attitudes towards work and the workplace.

He has made numerous contributions to The Times, Personnel Today, Director and other business titles,

Subject Matter Expert for the Chartered Management Institute. A fluent Spanish speaker,
