ABOUT ROSE WHITELEY
I am an accredited psychotherapist and counsellor with a specialism in sexual and relationship difficulties. I see individuals and couples aged 18 and over in private practice. I have an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic-Integrative Counselling, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in the Theory and Practice of Psychotherapy for Sexual Dysfunction. In the past I have counselled couples at an NHS Psychosexual Clinic, young people at an inner London youth agency, and male offenders at a maximum security prison.
I work with a range of mental health problems including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, bereavement and anger management. My specialist area is issues affecting couples and relationships, including sexual difficulties of all kinds. I also have particular experience of working with issues around sexuality confusion, childhood sexual abuse and domestic violence. Outside the therapy world, I have freelanced for more than 15 years, working mainly as a writer, editor and consultant.
I belong to two professional organisations: I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and as a Sexual and Relationship Psychotherapist with the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapy (COSRT). I am subject to each organisation's codes of ethics and complaints procedures. You can find out more about them as follows:

UKCP www.psychotherapy.org.uk
COSRT www.cosrt.org.uk

I am on a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. The accredited registers programme was set up by the Government to improve standards and safety for the benefit of the public. Being on an accredited register demonstrates my commitment to high professional standards.
